So, lately I have noticed these grand ideas popping into my head. I am in the middle of so much right now, and definatly have my hands full allready, but still can't stop or shake these ideas.
Personal ideas, business ideas, ideas for my group at church, ideas for books, ideas for vacation... And so on!
I try to take on the world, and when I do this nothing happens. Kind of remids me of that movie, "The Love Guru". In the movie he says, "I want to take you from no where to Now Here". I love that! Through time and hard work I know all my dreams will come true. I know if I work hard enough, stay focused, and pray about it, it will happen!
I need to learn patience. I need to realize everything I want isn't going to come over night. Dedication, hard work, and faith get you the things in life you want.
I think in a way we all do this... Hurry through life, try to do everything we can as fast as we can, hoping everything works out in the end, because I have that owe well type of attitude.
Why are we this way and why do we allways want things done in a rush?
Lets learn to take things slow. One day at a time, one task at a time. If we dont learn how to do this we will stumble over everything we are trying to do at once, and things will cancel eachother out!
Today I will do my best to go slow! One thing at a time!!!

Dan the Man,
ReplyDeleteSounds like you’re searching fulfillment of purpose. Sounds like you planned on being much more now than you are, usually this is associated with the egocentric agenda, the world’s expectations of perceived social status. Nothing really wrong with it as long as it aligns with God’s will for your life. Do you know His will for your life?
Prioritization of your lists will offer a decrease of your random chaotic thoughts, within your list what can be the most easily attained and start there. It is important with idea/thought conception to write them down then compile a sub-list of the steps needed in fulfilling its purpose. The sub-list group allows for in-depth concentration of singularity focusing on one goal and one goal only until the list shows common ground.
Simplicity in knowing limitations within the goal shows a demonstrated maturity i.e.: a vacation involves dedication in where to go, quick research in cost, savings plan and do you have vacation days from your employer, usually when location is agreed upon and cost is estimated then save then agreed upon amount from every paycheck and request the days off when applicable.
Any church group ideas usually involves a more extreme involvement and intense dedication, given that every pastor I had gone to with group ideas simply stated that “well it is your idea you do it “completely” rarely do they accept your idea and designate another to “run with it”, so those ideas as honorable as they are may need to be set aside until you have the time to dedicate to them, especially when you are planning on attending college to learn a trade, raising a 2 year old.. As for a business it is a life-long process, what is the business? Is there a market for it? Is it related to your occupation? Do you have a business plan? Do you also have time, money and effort to obtain a degree in small business management? Given the economy is this, using mature thought, a “pipe dream”?

Part 2,
ReplyDeleteAs for personal thoughts those are personal but the same rules apply. The easiest one is the books, as an aspiring author, write a little at a time, jot down the concepts as they may come, keep a small notebook with you, and take a few minuets a night to write (word document-save often) and sooner than you know you have a book. Now for the harsh reality, over 90% of all submitted works are not accepted for publication. Make sure your expectations match reality, know that you will un-doubly fail at some endeavors, but run the good race, rethink the endeavor, humble yourself in reality and if needed move on knowing that by at least trying you have achieved much and are truly successful. What we write will always be a treasured work of art for us, we put blood, sweat and tears into our masterpiece, that is priceless.
Quite honestly the majority of us 99.99% never achieve “all” our dreams, my dream family can be taken from me, my dream house can be lost in a fire with everything I own, my dream car can be stolen, my dream business can be effected by economic devastation, my only child can be lost by war, domestic or foreign. Well I think you get the picture, dreams matter much and can only be achieved through honest, mature look at reality. When I wrote my book I didn’t think that is was worthy of publication, better for sermon material but lo and behold it was accepted one of the less than 10%, now my realistic expectation is that I am able to pay off some bills, realistically the possibility exists that the book can be a dismal failure but at the same time it could be a great success, thus, my expectation has been met, it was good enough to be accepted.
I have no expectation that I will without a doubt make millions, that is foolish, hence I put no faith and reliance in the book if it does great then great, if it fails then at least I succeed in trying and I have learned so much and knowledge is a priceless commodity.
So to answer “why” because worldly status acceptance will expect nothing less, if you do not fit its mold then you are a weak minded failure of a man, therefore men will work themselves into the grave just to prove a misconception. Dedicate your need to learn into your will to learn, belief will get you to the mountain-faith will move it.
